Cuban diplomats meet with parliamentary group of friendship with Cuba in the Hellenic Parliament

Athens. February 4. Parliamentarians from the Friendship Group with Cuba of the Hellenic Parliament, headed by their President George Amiras, received at the parliamentary headquarters the ambassador of Cuba in Greece Zelmys Maria Domínguez Cortina and the Councillor of the Embassy José Oriol Marrero Martinez, who both offered interesting information about the current situation in Cuba.
A deep, broad and positive exchange was made. Greece maintains a clear historical position against the U.S. government's blockade towards Cuba, which was reiterated once again by parliamentarians and was thanked by the Cuban diplomats.
It was also exchanged on the cultural relations between the two countries, on the activity of Cuban citizens residing in Greece, on José Martí's love for "the Greek", on the possibilities of continuing to increase tourism, and economic and commercial exchange in certain areas.
The parliamentarians also welcomed detailed information on the newly approved Constitution of the Republic of Cuba and on concrete actions in preparation for the 200th anniversary of the Independence of Greece in March 2021 and that in will be disclosed.
It was advocated for promoting joint actions and further strengthening the friendship relations between the two peoples, among other issues.
The friendship group with Cuba in the Parliament of the Greeks is made up of 13 members from various political forces, from the New Democracy, Syriza and MeRa25 parties, who were present at the meeting.
