Cuban diplomats take part in National Remembrance Services to honour  the victims of the Christchurch attacks

Wellington.-Cuban Ambassador Mario Alzugaray participated in the National Remembrance Service to honour the victims of Christchurchs terrorist attack on two local mosques.

The event, chaired by Governor General Dame Patsy Reddy and Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, took place in Hagley Park and was attended by the Heads of Mission of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to New Zealand. It Was broadcast simultaneously in several cities where similar events were organized, as in the case of Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin.

In Brief exchange with government leaders and MFAT officials present at the event, the Cuban diplomat confirmed the contents of the messages of condolences sent by the President Diaz Canel and foreign minister Bruno Rodríguez, of firm rejection to all type of terrorist act.

Called "Ko Tātou, Tātou, We Are One", the Service was organized by the Christchurch City Council, the central government, representatives of the Muslim community and Ngāi Tahu.

Third Secretary Saimín Fis Abad represented Cuba in the service convened and organized by the mayor of Wellington. (Embacuba NZ).
