Cuban diplomats visit the 9th Edition of the Mining Exhibition in Namibia.

Namibia. - Organized by the Namibian Chamber of Mines, the main mining exhibition of this year was held from August 31 to September 1 in the city of Windhoek, the country's capital, with the attendance of hundreds of daily visitors, including those from the Cuban ambassador Sidenio Acosta Aday and the counselor in charge of the political and economic-commercial offices, Rodolfo Ricardo Guzmán.

The Cuban diplomats were able to appreciate the rapid technological advances in the Namibian mining sector, involved in the exploration of new frontiers, in the use of natural resources such as gas and solar energy to produce (green) hydrogen, with applications in mining operations, as well as the revival of the Namibian uranium sector and the reopening of historic mines.

According to Mr. Veston Malango, Executive Director of the Namibian Chamber of Mines, the country's mining sector is poised for further growth. “The outlook for mining remains as favorable as ever, and we are eagerly following a sustained recovery in the price of uranium and a continued rise in mineral commodity prices as the world transitions to energy solutions. green,” he says.

The Bank of Namibia estimates that the mining and quarrying sector will grow by 9.1% this year, reaching approximately €1,212 million in terms of economic activity.
