Cuban doctor living in the UK participates in the 1st Forum "Cubans Living Abroad for Health".

Cuban doctor Valia Rodríguez Rodríguez, resident in the United Kingdom, actively participated in the I Forum "Cubans Residing Abroad for Health", held on 23 April in the framework of the V International Health Convention "Cuba Salud" 2025.

During her speech, Dr. Valia proposed strengthening academic links between Cuba and its medical community abroad. In particular, she suggested facilitating the exchange of Cuban professors and specialists residing abroad, incorporating them into the national medical education system. This initiative would make it possible to enrich medical training in Cuba with knowledge acquired both on the island and from professional experience abroad, while at the same time helping to alleviate the shortage of personnel and raise the quality of medical education.

He also proposed the creation of short videos starring Cuban medical collaborators, in which they share their experiences in different international missions. This strategy seeks to strengthen the image of Cuban medical collaboration and to counteract the discrediting campaigns that are promoted against this noble work.

The participation of Cubans living abroad in this important event is the result of the agreements adopted at the IV Conference "Nation and Emigration", as well as the Encounters of Cubans Resident in Europe (ECRE), which have strengthened the ties between Cuba and its emigration, and promote concrete actions in support of the country's development.

The Cuban Embassy in the United Kingdom congratulates Dr. Valia Rodríguez Rodríguez for her commitment and valuable contribution to this forum, an expression of the growing role of Cubans living abroad in strengthening the Cuban health system.
