Cuba Celebrates Anniversary of International Medical Collaboration in Zimbabwe

Harare, May 24, 2025 – The Cuban Medical Brigade in Zimbabwe received recognition today from the State Mission on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the beginning of the Caribbean country's international collaboration in health.

Specialized contingents have been present in this African nation since 1987, with 937 brigade members from 2000 to the current 14th, recognized by the national authorities of Cuba and Zimbabwe for its high scientific level.

Cuban Medical Brigade provides healthcare in Zimbabwe

Harare, March 16, 2025 - The Cuban Medical Brigade in Zimbabwe held a Health Fair today to serve dozens of children and patients in need in the cities of Bulawayo and Chitungwiza.

At the Bulawayo hospital, about 400 kilometers southwest of this capital, doctors from various specialties treated nearly 80 residents suffering from high blood pressure, heart disease, and the human immunodeficiency virus, among other ailments.

Cuba and Mongolia expand ties in health sector.

With the signing today of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Health of Mongolia and the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba on reciprocal cooperation in the field of health and medical sciences, the national competencies of both countries to strengthen health systems and continue advancing in the collaboration modalities agreed by both parties in this document.

Embassy attends a ceremony in the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital

The Embassy of Cuba attended a ceremony  where the Labor Order, third degree, was conferred to the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital, an institution of the capital city that this year is half a century old.

Dang Thi Ngoc Tinh, vice president of the Indo-Chinese country, awarded the Hospital whit the Order, conferred by the Vietnamese State, in recognition of the work of aa hospital that has become a provincial reference center in the specialties of otolaryngology and dentistry.

As was stated in the Declaration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba on August 29, 2019, the government of the United States has deployed, as from last year, an intensive and defamatory campaign against the medical cooperation offered by Cuba, which adds to the threats of sanctions against Cuban leaders and pressures exerted on recipient States to make them dispense with said cooperation.

Kingston, Jamaica, 20 December 2018. The Ministry of Health of Jamaica was the venue for the official signing ceremony of a protocol for the extension of Technical Cooperation agreements on Health between Cuba and Jamaica.

The document was signed by the Minister of Health of Jamaica, Dr. Christopher Tufton, and H.E. Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, Ambassador of Cuba in this Caribbean nation.
