Havana, Cuba, Dec 20 (acn) The CIMAvax-EGF vaccine against lung cancer, created by Cuban scientists at the Center for Molecular Immunology, goes through its last phase of clinical trial in the province of Cienfuegos.
According to Granma newspaper, this is the first therapeutic treatment registered against lung cancer that generates antibodies against the epidermal growth factor (EGF) of the patient.
Doha, December 2, 2016.- Cuban medical team organized its Six Annual Journey on Friday the 2nd of December, 2016, at the Cuban Hospital, in Dukhan. At its opening ceremony, tribute was rendered to late Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz by observing a minute of silence. The scientific event was chaired by Cuban Ambassador to the State of Qatar, Eumelio Caballero Rodríguez who delivered the opening remarks, Dr. Ernesto López Cruz, Representative of Cuban Medical Services in Qatar, and Dr. Diana Maite Fernández, Deputy Director a.i. of the Hospital.
Hon. John Boyce, Minister of Health of Barbados, makes a bilateral working visit to Havana on October 19 to review cooperation relations with his Cuban counterpart, Dr. Roberto Morales, while attending the regional event sponsored by Cuba and PAHO on confrontation with Zika, to be held October 20-21.
