Cuban education and culture present at the College Fair of the Immaculate Conception High School.

Kingston, 21 October 2025. The Third Secretary of the Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica, Anabel Landrón Ochoa, and the National Coordinator of the Educational Brigade, Yoendris Ramirez Figueroa, participated for the second consecutive year in the College Fair organised by Immaculate Conception High School.

During the exchange with students from more than 30 educational centres in the Kingston & St. Andrew region, the Cuban diplomat highlighted the educational work in promoting different artistic expressions, as part of the policy promoted by the Cuban Revolution of ‘culture as a right of all the people’. She also highlighted the opportunities to pursue higher education in Cuba as a way to expand knowledge about the identifying elements of Cuban culture and its similarities with Jamaica and the Caribbean region.

The authorities of the educational centre recognised the quality of higher education in our country, describing it as one of the best in the Latin American and Caribbean region.
