Cuban Embassy in The Bahamas celebrated the Cuban Culture Day to the rhythm of the drums

THE BAHAMAS, October 18, 2017. - Yesterday The Embassy of Cuba in the Bahamas celebrated a political-cultural activity in commemoration of October 20th, Day of the Cuban National Culture.

The Cuban Ambassador Ismara Vargas Walter, referred to the importance of this date for all the Cubans, since it mark the first time the Cuban National Anthem was sung in 1868. She also referred to culture as a strong point of exchange between the peoples of Cuba and The Bahamas in the last years. Likewise, the diplomat highlighted the participation of various Cuban artists and artisans at the International Cultural Festival of The Bahamas and congratulated all of them for the Grand Prize recently obtained by Cuba.

The attendees enjoyed the excellent musical performance of the outstanding Cuban artist Eduardo Cordova, who delighted everyone with his particular drumming. Likewise, Cuban residents and Cuban collaborators in the Caribbean country made a presentation of different Cuban dances to spice the event up.

 The meeting was attended by members of the solidarity group, Bahamian friends and other nationalities, intellectuals, graduates in Cuba, Cuban residents, members of the Cuban mission, as well as Cuban artists and artisans.
