Cuban Embassy in Barbados denounces rampant US escalation against the Cuban people.

In a series of intense sessions aimed at clarifying the truth about the current situation of the Cuban people, the Cuban ambassador to Barbados, Yanet Stable Cárdenas, has given statements to various Barbadian press, radio, and television outlets.

In conversations held at the Cuban Embassy in Barbados on May 20, 2026, the ambassador, in addition to speaking with various media outlets, met with members of the Barbados-Cuba Friendship Association, the Hibiscus Foundation for Sport and Culture, and members of the Barbadian delegation that traveled to Cuba for the May Day celebrations. These individuals shared their perspectives and experiences, having witnessed the harsh reality facing Cuba following the energy blockade, the intensification of the embargo, and the increased sanctions imposed by the Trump Administration on the Cuban people. These sanctions stem from Executive Orders signed and implemented by the administration, designed to cripple the Cuban economy and subject the Cuban people to hunger and deprivation of all basic necessities.

More recently, in an appearance on the popular morning television program Mornin Barbados, our ambassador to Barbados, Yanet Stable Cárdenas, and the ambassador of Barbados to CARICOM, Mr. David Comissiong, discussed the current situation of our people and the need for all people and governments of good will to support Cuba and help it prevail against the forces of US imperialism.

The ambassador affirmed that Cuba is a peaceful country that does not wish to engage in armed conflict; on the contrary, it desires to live in peace. She emphasized that we are a people of solidarity, hardworking people who have learned to survive and resist in order to move forward. She spoke about the ongoing efforts we are making to accelerate the implementation of renewable energy.

Ambassador Yanet Stable Cárdenas dismissed the charges brought against the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz. In statements given to the news outlet Starcom Network News, she affirmed that the United States has no jurisdiction to bring such charges and stated that the staff of the Cuban Embassy in Barbados supports the demonstration of condemnation and repudiation led by the Cuban people at the Anti-Imperialist Tribune, in unanimous rejection of these accusations against the Army General. In each of her interventions, she has strongly condemned this unbridled U.S. escalation against the Cuban people in the obstinate attempt to overthrow the Cuban revolutionary government. He reiterated that we are a people of peace, but if war is imposed upon us, we will defend our homeland and our sovereignty to the last drop of blood.
