Accra, 20 February 2024: - The Second Secretary of the Cuban Embassy in Ghana, Mr. Yamil Eduardo Martinez Marrero, received at the diplomatic mission's headquarters members of the National Secretariat of the Graduate Students Association of Ghana, GRASAG.
The young visitors expressed interest in learning about postgraduate study opportunities offered by Cuba, as well as possible cultural, educational or health exchange programmes. They acknowledged the difficulty of obtaining factual information about Cuba, however, they were aware of the support that the Greater Antilles has offered Ghana, and Africa in general, in the training of its human resources and collaboration in the field of medicine, for which they expressed their gratitude.
The Cuban official confirmed Cuba's historical position of solidarity with the countries of the South, which is part of the Cuban government's willingness to share what it has and as a precept of the historic leader of the Revolution to correspond to our debt to humanity. He acknowledged the limitations faced by the country, which have a severe impact on the educational sector, as a result of the asphyxia policy applied by successive US administrations, essentially due to the economic and commercial blockade and the inclusion of the island on the state sponsor of terrorism list.
