Accra, 26 August 2025. – Today, the Embassy of Cuba in Ghana had the privilege of receiving the Hon. Samia Nkrumah, daughter of Ghana's greatest leader, Kwame Nkrumah, the Father of Ghana's Independence and the country's first President of the Republic.
In talks with the Ambassador Julio Enrique Pujol Torres, together recall the profound and fraternal relationship between her father and our Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro Ruz, both leaders with much in common in the defense of the sovereignty and self-determination of their peoples.
Samia hearkened back to the days when she personally met Fidel, when the Commander in Chief attended her father's funeral in Guinea Conakry in 1972, an event she remembers with great admiration, even though she was very young at the time.
