The Cuban Embassy in Jamaica celebrates the 60th Anniversary of the Revolution

Kingston, Jamaica, 1 January 2019. Last night, the Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica celebrated the 60th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution. More than a hundred people attended the festive event, including members of the State Mission of our country in Jamaica, friends of the Movement of Solidarity with Cuba, members of the Association of Cuban Residents in Jamaica "Antonio Maceo" and other Cuban nationals living in Jamaica.

At midnight, after listening to the notes of our National Anthem, Her Excellency Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, Ambassador of Cuba, read a the following message to the attendants:

Dear comrades, brothers and friends

Our National Hero Jose Marti said: “Pompous words turn out to be unnecessary to talk about sublime men.”

More than half a century of calumnies and dark invitations to generational rupture and discourage in the face of difficulties, have failed to tear down the columns of the temple of our faith.

The Revolution of Fidel and of the Marti’s Centenary Generation now reaches its 60th Anniversary with the same dignity of its founders: intact and improved.

We are facing a crucial historical moment, marked by all achievements we are to make in updating our economic and social model by perfecting and strengthening our work in all spheres of life in our nation.

The Revolution continues its course without a single absence, even our dead will keep us company in crucial hours, just like Cespedes, Agramonte, Maceo, Gomez, Marti and so many others, have always been with us in our hardest struggles.

Leaning on our preceding glory and living in its shadow, would mean betraying it.

2019 will be a year of challenges and victories, and we aim to achieve more!

Long live the 60th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution!

Long live Cuba!
