Cuban Embassy in Kenya observes the Day of National Rebellion

The Embassy of Cuba in Nairobi, Kenya observed the Day of National Rebellion (July 26) to mark the historic 1953 attacks on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks.

The Cuban ambassador thanked the presence of representatives of political parties and groups of friendship with Cuba that support and defend the Cuban Revolution in this African nation.

The ambassador highlighted the historical importance of the date that is celebrated in Cuba and around the world. The date marked the beginning of the last stage of struggles of the people of that nation to achieve their true independence, which came on January 1, 1959 with the revolutionary triumph of the Revolution.

The diplomat referred to the current moment that Cuba is experiencing, marked by the strengthening of the U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade.

Cuban Ambassador recognized the importance of the actions carried out by Cuba's friends in Kenya and in many parts of the world to disseminate the Cuban reality and counteract the strong campaign of discredit against the island.
