Kuala Lumpur, June 14, 2025. The Cuban Embassy in Malaysia celebrated the symbolic change of attribute from the blue to the red kerchief of its pioneer Camila Rodríguez Ledesma, who went from being a Moncadista pioneer to becoming a member of the José Martí Pioneers Organization (OPJM) at its first level, corresponding to students in fourth to sixth grade.
The kerchief is the fundamental attribute of the Cuban pioneers who are grouped together in the OPJM, an organization that works to develop in children and adolescents an interest in studying, a sense of social responsibility, as well as a love for the homeland and the peoples of the world.
The children of Cuban diplomats accompany their parents on missions abroad representing Cuba, and there they face new personal and academic challenges, even in other languages. It is moving to see their sense of belonging to our beloved island and the Pride they feel with their red scarf!
