Cuban Embassy participates in the Luxembourg Communist Parties Festival

Sanem, July 5, 2026. The Cuban Embassy in Luxembourg participated in Wisefest: the Festival of the Communist Parties of Luxembourg, held on July 4 and 5, 2026.

This annual event had a special reason to celebrate this year: it marked the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Luxembourg Communist Party’s (KPL) newspaper, “Zeitung vum Lëtzebuerger Vollek.”

Representatives and leaders of the KPL, the Communist Party of Germany, the OGBL Trade Union of Luxembourg, the Luxembourg Women’s Union, and the Committee for Just Peace in the Middle East, among other participants, attended this 50th edition of the festival.

At the festival’s opening ceremony, embassy representatives provided an update on the internal situation in Cuba, the impact of the intensified U.S. blockade, and the new coercive measures and executive orders imposed by the Donald Trump administration against Cuba.

Luxembourg’s friends in solidarity reaffirmed their condemnation of the U.S. blockade and reiterated their unwavering solidarity with the Cuban people. On the Cuban side, gratitude was expressed for the valuable work carried out by the KPL and its newspaper in publicizing the reality in Cuba and denouncing the U.S. blockade.
