Sanem, July 6, 2025. The Cuban Embassy in Luxembourg was present at the Luxembourg Communist Party Festival “Wisefest,” which took place on July 5 and 6, 2025.
The traditional event, which celebrated its 49th edition this year, was also attended by representatives and leaders of the Communist Party of Germany, the Socialist Union of Luxembourg, the INCA Union, and the Workers' Party of Belgium.
At the opening of the festival, the Second Secretary of the embassy, Ana María Ortega, provided participants with an update on the internal situation in Cuba, the impact of the economic, financial, and commercial blockade imposed by the US government on Cuba for more than 60 years, the new pressure measures imposed by Trump, and the need to remove Cuba from the unilateral and spurious list of “state sponsors of terrorism.”
The occasion was propitious for our Luxembourgish friends to ratify their condemnation of the unjust blockade, their demand for Cuba's removal from the list of “state sponsors of terrorism,” and their solidarity with the Cuban people.
The event featured a wide-ranging debate on the situation in the Middle East and the need to end the genocide being committed against the Palestinian people. In this context, Cuba reaffirmed its solidarity with the brotherly Palestinian people.
