Geneva, June 24, 2025 Cuba's representative, Celeste Sánchez González, a specialist from the Center for State Control of Medicines, Equipment and Medical Devices (CECMED), is participating in the meeting of the World Health Organization (WHO) Technical Advisory Group for the certification of Regulatory Authorities on the WHO List (WLA). This meeting will take place from June 23-25 at WHO headquarters.
The Technical Group is composed of 14 independent experts from the six world regions. They are high-level specialists who are internationally recognized for their knowledge, experience and high performance in strengthening regulatory systems for medicines, including vaccines.
The experts come from diverse backgrounds and include scientists, researchers, doctors and professors.
This Group meets biannually, with the objective of providing WHO with strategic and technical advice in the decision-making process for the evaluation of National Regulatory Authorities.
In order for a National Regulatory Authority to join the List of entities recognized by WHO, it must meet the highest standards of quality and efficacy.
