Organized by the Philological Association of Imathia and the Cultural Company of the Municipality of Veria, in collaboration with the Embassy of Cuba, a “Cuban Cinema Day” was held on February 9 and 10, which was held at the Antoniadeo House in Letters and Arts, with the attendance of a large audience. Furthermore, during his visit, Ambassador Aramis Fuente Hernández held meetings with authorities from the region, as well as with representatives of various mass institutions, including educational, cultural, health sector, the Bar Association, the Association of Philologists and others, with whom interesting and fruitful exchanges took place and conversations were held on various topics of common interest for the relations between the Caribbean island and the institutions of that Region of Central Macedonia. The meeting held with the students and the teaching staff of Liceo No 4 of Veria, headed by its director Dimitris Tahmatzidis, was very emotional, in which information was exchanged about education in Cuba and its development. Also the visit to the Veria Public Library. In different contacts, the firm solidarity and love of the Greek people towards the Cuban people, and their struggle, was expressed, as well as the demand for the end of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed for more than 60 years against Cuba. The program included a visit to the archaeological sites of Vergina, which provided detailed information about the ancient history of the region and the archaeological treasures preserved there.
