Accra, 27 November. – The screening of the Cuban feature film Kangamba, directed by Rogelio Paris, marked the closing of the 9th Ibero-American Film Festival Accra 2025, which showcased productions from Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Brazil.
The event was held at the Reginald Amonoo Building (Modern Languages Annex – MLA) at the University of Ghana, and was attended by representatives of the Diplomatic Corps of Mexico, Spain and Brazil, as well as members of the Association of Ghanaian Graduates in Cuba, Cuban residents, and a large and enthusiastic group of university students, who offered a standing ovation at the conclusion of the film.
The presentation served as a fitting tribute, on African soil, to the 50th Anniversary of Operation Carlota and was especially dedicated to our Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro on the ninth anniversary of his passing into immortality.
