The member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, denounced this Thursday the falsehood of the arguments of the United States Government to sanction Cuban people and institutions and unmasked the claims to manipulate the public opinion against the Cuban Revolution.
At a press conference, the Chancellor referred to the statement by President Joseph Biden, through which he reports on sanctions from his Government for the Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba, General of the Army Corps Álvaro López Miera, and for the Brigade National Special of the Ministry of the Interior, unilateral measures which he described as irrelevant in their practical sense, but relevant in their political nature and interference.
«The President of the USA announces that the sanctions against those responsible for what he calls repression against the Cuban people will continue, and that I categorically and absolutely reject. Here there has not been an act of repression against the Cuban people, in the same way that there has not been a social outbreak, as I have already denounced, despite the persistent mendacity of some well-established international media outlets, ”he explained.
He questioned the change of opinion of the US president, who now declared that Cuba is an absolute priority for his government, contrary to what was said previously, but that it provides him with arguments to maintain the unjust blockade and justifies practical actions to impose more sanctions. .
Rodríguez Parrilla declared: «The President of the United States and his government could better deal with the differentiated racial pattern, judicial errors, systemic racism, the brutal repression of social protest within its territory, of those that were legitimately produced as a result of the cold murder of Afro-descendant citizens. He could also deal with the situation of his more than 400 journalists who suffered injuries or violence while covering the racial demonstrations.
He asserted that the White House administration lacks the moral authority to ask for the release of people detained in Cuba, which is considered an act of interference and intervention: “They lie when they refer to peaceful protesters, they avoid acknowledging that there were violent acts, They avoid the complaints that have been made by our Government, first of the persistent instigation of terrorism, organized from US territory ", and added that there is still to refute accusations that he made personally days before.
He defended that the Cuban authorities and, in particular those of the internal order, acted in strict accordance with the law, with absolute respect for the norms that govern their conduct, with the minimum of force in the face of vandalism and violent acts that caused injuries to police officers. the Police, civilians and Cuban citizens who proclaimed their support for the Revolution and the Cuban Government.

He alluded to the fact that in South American countries there have been thousands of murders of human rights defenders, social activists, community leaders, people who joined peace processes or terrible cases, of which Washington has been very shy to refer such as the so-called false positives, or the murders of civilians, to present them as belligerents.

He highlighted the concern about the manipulation of information and images, with clearly political ends. He alluded to President Biden's speech about the review of sending remittances to the Caribbean island, and blamed the measures taken by Donald Trump, which made it impossible for that mechanism to function properly.

He showed evidence of attempts to create instability and damage the constitutional order, as a result of a media and political campaign that began on June 15 and lasts until this minute, for which he held Washington responsible. He made reference to the alleged damage to the health of US diplomats, something investigated by eminent experts for four years, an argument that has only served to restrict consular procedures for Cubans who wish to visit or emigrate to the United States, something shameful and whose fault falls on the extreme right of Florida.
