Cuban Foreign Minister rejects declaration of high representative of the European Union

The Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, rejected this Thursday statements by the high representative of the European Union for Foreign Policy, Josep Borrell, on the riots of July 11, and warned that when speaking about Cuba he "lies and manipulates" while "he does not dare to mention by name the genocidal US blockade", which also violates European sovereignty.
The statement of the European official reproduces the imperial patterns of "repression of peaceful protests" in Cuba, blaming the current "suffering" of the Cuban people on the Government and calling for internal economic reforms, without once mentioning the criminal US blockade against Cuba, which European countries as a bloc rejected recently at the United Nations.
In a statement released this Thursday, the block of 27 showed "unequivocal support" to the participants in the July 11 riots, while demanding the release of the detainees.
The text considered "a good step in the right direction" the lifting of restrictions so that travelers can enter unlimited amounts of food and medicine to the island.
At the same time, while referring to the need for reforms, he considered the “easing of external restrictions, including remittances and travel,” useful, without any mention of the origin of these restrictions.
The statement obviates the accusations from Cuba that link the Florida State Government and other US entities with the financing and promotion of thousands of false news and manipulation on the networks to achieve a social outbreak in the country.
The Cuban authorities linked the riots to a political-communication crusade that involved media laboratories based in the United States, something that the island's Foreign Ministry has repeatedly denounced.
In the current situation of aggression against Cuba, and contrary to the EU, governments around the world have directly pointed to the impact of the blockade and Washington's aggressive policy as the main cause of the current crisis in the country.
