CUBAN KENYA BORGES BROTON WINS FIRST PLACE IN NATIONAL CATEGORY OF BARLADY INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION.

The Cuban Kenia Borges Broton, bartender at the Breeza bar at the Meliá Internacional Hotel in Varadero, was the winner of first place in the National Category in the first international women's competition with the name of Barlady, held on March 8 and 9 at the Hotel Presidente in Athens.

The competition included two categories: Classic Cocktail and National Cocktail, the latter had to contain a local element or inspiration from each representative country. It had the participation of representatives from 16 countries who presented their cocktail creations and Kenya won with its “Pearl of the North” cocktail in the National Category.

She was accompanied by Eddis Naranjo Carrillo, president of the Cuban Bartenders Association, and Luisa Pérez Carballeira, deputy general director of Operations and Quality and president of the Accessible Tourism Network in Cuba.

The young Cuban expressed that: “Every day there are more women who join this profession, I know many warriors who have been an example for me, we are gaining a lot of strength in a world that was said to be “only for men.” The Cuban woman is strong and she turns everything she touches with delicacy and love into achievements and gold and that makes us unique and indestructible.”
