Kingston, Jamaica, 30 November 2019. The 15th Scientific Forum of the Cuban Medical Brigade in Jamaica was held this Saturday at Chest Hospital in Kingston. About twenty works were exposed, including case presentations and posters.
During the day, the preparation and the high scientific rigor of the Cuban health professionals who offer their services in the sister Caribbean nation were highlighted.
In the inaugural session, Dr. José Armando Arronte Villamarín made a presentation on the results of Cuban public health and medical cooperation; followed by an intervention by the Cuban ambassador to Jamaica, Inés Fors Fernández, who congratulated the participants and urged them to make the best use of this historical academic exchange.
As the culmination of the scientific meeting, Dr. Neville Graham, a Jamaican professional graduated from the Cuban medical academy, spoke to recognize the quality of the papers presented; and Cuba's important contribution to the public health system in Jamaica, both from the point of view of assistance and in terms of human resources training.
Likewise, Dr. Humberto Salazar Casanova gave a keynote lecture about the Legal management of acute alcohol intoxication, which contributed to the preparation of the attendants to the Forum.
All in all, it was a fruitful event that stood out for the quality and high scientific grade in the works presented.
