The Cuban medical brigade integrated by members of the International Contingent of Doctors Specialized in Situations of Disasters and Serious Epidemics "Henry Reeve" that arrived in Turkey to provide assistance to the victims of the earthquake of great intensity that affected this nation last February 6, was located in the Necip Fazıl Şehir Hospital located in the city of Kahramanmaraş. There they were received by officials from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the hospital and the Emergency and Disaster Management Authority (AFAD).
The group is composed of 32 health professionals of them 20 medical specialists and 11 graduates including nurses, epidemiologists and service personnel. All with extensive work experience in the fulfillment of international missions and emergencies in nations such as Pakistan, Guinea Conakry, Liberia (on the occasion of the Ebola outbreak in 2014 in West Africa); in Mexico, United Arab Emirates, Andorra and Cuba facing the Covid-19.
