Cuban Medical brigade in the Turks and Caicos Islands takes donation to Santiago de Cuba

Cuban Medical brigade in the Turks and Caicos Islands takes donation to Santiago de Cuba.

Santiago de Cuba, Cuba, 6 October 2021. A donation consisting of 12,800 syringes, 37 infrared thermometers with their batteries and 160 KN95 masks was delivered to health authorities in Santiago de Cuba by the "Henry Reeve" Medical Brigade working in the Turks and Caicos Islands. The donation was prepared by the members of the Brigade, foreign graduates from Cuban colleges and Cubans residing in that British Overseas Territory.

Passenger of the aircraft included three members of the brigade who successfully completed their mission in the Turks and Caicos Islands, and others who will enjoy well-deserved vacations in Cuba. On the way back, an emergency doctor and 8 nurses travelled to the islands to join the Medical Brigade.

Attached to the “Henry Reeve” Contingent, the brigade has been working in the Turks and Caicos Islands since June 2020, in response to a request from the islands’ authorities for support to fight the Covid-19 pandemic. Professionalism and humanism have earned them the love and appreciation of the local population, to whom they provide a wide range of medical services, despite numbering less than twenty members.
