Díli, February 13, 2026. Dr. Herculano Seixas dos Santos, a cardiologist trained in Cuba and currently the second-in-command of the Association of Friendship with Cuba, met with Ambassador Alina Aldama and Minister-Counselor Pablo Romero.
During the exchange between the Cuban diplomat and the Timorese representative, she provided an update on the intensification of the U.S. government's blockade against the Cuban people. She also commented on the expressions of solidarity that Cuba has received, emphasizing the need for continued support from all friends.
For his part, the Executive Secretary of the Association expressed his gratitude for the information received and pledged to undertake actions that reaffirm the organization's stance of support and accompaniment. The organization has a long history of rejecting and condemning the imposition of tariffs on countries that supply oil to Cuba, which violates the sovereign right to free trade of the sister nation.
