At the Cuban Mission to the UN, Americans Commemorate the 99th Anniversary of Fidel Castro Ruz's Birth

On Friday afternoon, a tribute was held at the Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations to mark the 99th anniversary of the birth of the historic leader and Commander-in-Chief of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, with the participation of representatives from various US organizations in solidarity with our country. The event was part of the commemorations leading up to the centenary of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, to be celebrated in 2026.

Speakers at the event included Cuba's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, and representatives of organizations in solidarity with our country.

During this emotional event, the internationalist footprint of the Cuban Revolution, conceived by Fidel as a moral duty and historical responsibility, was highlighted, as well as the fundamental role of solidarity movements in defending the sovereignty of peoples and building a more just world order.

Cuba's contributions in support of the self-determination of peoples, its educational and medical work in dozens of countries, and the creation of the Henry Reeve Contingent were recalled.

The event concluded with a commitment to continue strengthening cooperation and ties of friendship between Cuba and the peoples of the world.
