New York, 5 March 2021. The Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations held a virtual meeting with a group of students from Ecuador, Colombia, Dominican Republic and Mexico, who will participate in the National High School Model United Nations (NHSMUN) Conference.
The students, coordinated by the ISM School in Ecuador, were interested in learning about the principles governing the foreign policy of the Cuban Revolution, how Cuba implements and follows up on the 2030 Agenda and its actions in the negotiations at the United Nations.
The Cuban diplomats also answered questions related to the struggle of the Cuban people and the international community for the elimination of the US blockade against Cuba and how this policy affects the Cuban people.
The students were also interested in Cuba´s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, with emphasis on the development of Cuban vaccine candidates.
NHSMUN is an event organized by IMUNA, a non-profit educational organization formally associated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications. This year, the model will be held virtually, from 10 to 13 March 2021, with the participation of 5,000 high school students from around the world.
