Cuban movie inaugurates Spain & Latinamerica Film Festival in Palmerston North

Palmerston North, 10 October 2016. - The screening of "The film of Ana" marked the inauguration of the 15th Latin America & Spain Film Festival (LAASFF) in this city at the Manawatu-Wanganui region. 

The event became a day filled with traditional elements of Cuban culture, which began with the charm and amuse of Caribbean music and dance rhythms, under the leadership of Rafael Ferrer Noel and his Cuban Fusion project. Young Cubans enrolled at Massey University where in charge of delighting the audience with authentic Creole nibbles.

In his opening remarks, Cuba's Ambassador, Mario Alzugaray, expressed appreciation for the support of local authorities, in particular Massey University School of Humanities and Palmerston North City Library, stressing the close relationship that for many years has facilitated fruitful exchanges with Ibero - America and Cuba in particular.

LAASFF 2016 will be presented and inaugurated by participating nations (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela) in a large group of New Zealand cities, extending up to November 27th. (Embacuba NZ)
