Uganda, August 22, 2017.- Cuban Non-resident Ambassador to Rwanda Antonio Luis Pubillones Izaguirre presented to Mr. Claude Nikobisanzwe, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda, the copies of the Credentials that accredit him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cuba in that country. After the solemn ceremony, the Ambassador and the permanent secretary held a cordial and friendly meeting in which they reviewed the current state of relations between the two countries and exchanged on other national and international issues of mutual interest. Both sides welcomed the good state of relations between Cuba and Rwanda and the prospects of cooperation that currently exist in various socio-economic sectors of the African country, and pledged to work in the future on strengthening bilateral relations and the development and diversification of cooperation for mutual benefit. The Cuban Ambassador traveled to Rwanda to participate in the inauguration ceremony of President Paul Kagame, recently reelected by an overwhelming majority. Pubillones took the opportunity to thank the Rwandan Government for the traditional support for the resolution of the Greater Antilles that demands the lifting of the unjust and illegal economic blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba.
