Vientiane, 29 de abril, 2023. A delegation from the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) that arrived in Vientiane, headed by the member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee, Comrade Roberto Morales, fulfilled an intense program of activities.
Comrade Morales and his entourage were received at the Wattay International Airport by the head of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (PPRL), Comrade Thongsavanh Phomvihane; and other officials of that agency.
A courtesy visit to the secretary general of the PPRL and president of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Thongloun Sisoulith, set in motion the agenda of the senior Cuban partisan leader, who then held a meeting with the member of the Political Bureau, permanent member of the Secretariat of the PPRL and vice president of the nation, Comrade Bounthong Chitmany.
Subsequently, Comrade Morales signed the Cooperation Exchange Agreement between the two parties for the period 2023-2028, an act in which he was accompanied by Comrade Chitmany.
During the working day, both presided over the first theoretical seminar where they exchanged theoretical experiences and current practices between both organizations, at the end of which the meeting was held between the highest representatives of the National Political and Public Administration Academy of Laos and the Higher School of Ñico López Party, of Cuba.
Comrade Morales also received a courtesy visit from the member of the Central Committee of the Party, vice president of the National Assembly of Laos and President of the Friendship Association, Comrade Chaleun Yiapaoher.
The first secretary of the National Committee of the Union of Young Communists of Cuba, Comrade Aylín Alvarez, meanwhile, met with his counterpart from the Lao Revolutionary Popular Youth Union, Cro. Monexay Laomoaxong.
The program of activities included courtesy visits to the president of the Lao National Assembly, Comrade Saysomphone Phomvihane; and to the Prime Minister, Comrade Sonexay Siphandone, with which he will conclude the third and last day of the visit of Morales and his entourage to this Southeast Asian nation.
The Cuban partisan delegation completed a tour of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, valued as an opportunity to continue promoting political dialogue at the highest level and contribute to promoting the development of economic, commercial, financial and cooperation relations with these three sister nations.
