Today, May 22, the people of Havana gathered at the Anti-Imperialist Tribune to express, alongside the First Secretary of the PCC and President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, and other members of the leadership of the Cuban revolutionary government, a clear and firm demonstration of patriotic reaffirmation and unwavering support for the Cuban Revolution and Army General Raúl Castro Ruz. This demonstration comes in response to the recent infamous and fraudulent accusation by the U.S. government that they intend to try him in a U.S. court, which has no jurisdiction over foreign citizens residing in territories outside the United States. This new escalation of aggression against the Cuban people follows familiar patterns and is yet another fabrication orchestrated by U.S. imperialism to try to confuse and justify a military invasion of Cuban territory to the world.

The Cuban people and government pose no threat whatsoever to the US or any other country on the planet. On the contrary, the Cuban people, with the same firmness with which they defend their sovereignty, defend and desire peace for all the peoples of the world.
Our people have increased the life expectancy of millions of people through the immeasurable work of the medical brigades who, with such dedication, sacrifice, and true human compassion, have saved lives and who today also suffer the siege and slander of visceral imperialist hatred.
This attempt by the Trump Administration to demoralize the historic leadership of the Cuban Revolution with false accusations is more of the same; it's what they did in Venezuela and Iran. They repeat the same failed strategies time and time again. They refuse to accept that genuine revolutionary processes don't depend exclusively on a leader, because true leadership lies in the will of an entire people to defend their rights to sovereignty and to choose how they wish to build their society. And it is precisely the resilience of the Cuban people that most mortifies them; we are a true example for all oppressed peoples, and that is where the real threat lies.
The Cuban Revolution has always been a beacon of light, an example and inspiration for other peoples who also desire their independence. We are a people who defend world peace at all costs. We respect and defend multilateralism and are willing to engage in dialogue based on the principles of equality and mutual respect. However, if the U.S. unfortunately fails to understand that history is different with Cuba, and the Trump Administration makes the mistake of militarily invading our country, it will not only encounter fierce resistance from an entire people, prepared to give their last drop of blood for their homeland, but it will also face global solidarity and unleash a worldwide conflict when world powers decide to enter the fray and thousands of people on every continent raise their voices and take up arms to overthrow imperialism alongside our people on Cuban soil. Sound advice: put aside your stubbornness and arrogance. Avoid this war, destined to fail despite your military superiority, at all costs. You will once again become the laughingstock of the world, and the Trump Administration will be digging its own grave. Let it be clear: the Cuban people will fight! Ever onward to victory!
