The President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, received the Honorable Josaia Voreque Bainimarama, Prime Minister of the Republic of Fiji.
During the cordial meeting, both leaders exchanged about the good state of bilateral relations and the strengthening of economic and cooperation ties.
President Díaz-Canel expressed Cuba's commitment to continue contributing to the training of human resources in the small island states of the South Pacific. He also highlighted the common challenges that both nations face due to climate change and the impact of meteorological phenomena.
The distinguished visitor was Accompanied by the permanent secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister, Yogesh Jitendra Karan and the concurrent ambassador in our country, Satyendra Prasad, among other members of the delegation.
On the Cuban side were present, Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment; Marcelino Medina González, interim foreign minister; the general director of Bilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emilio Lozada García; and the ambassador of Cuba in Fiji, Carlos Manuel Rojas Lago.
