Oslo, April 3, 2023. The University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) in Bø and the University of Havana (UH) have started an international cooperation project entitled "Ecological Connections: Cultural Studies in Cuba and Norway (ECOCON)”, led by Dr. Hans Jacob Ohldieck, associate professor of Spanish at the USN, and Dr. Haydée Arango Milián, tenured professor at the UH.

The fundamental purposes of the project are the exchange of postgraduate students (master's and doctorate) between both higher education centers and the collaboration in research actions for the areas of literature, linguistic and cultural studies.

Within the framework of this project, the doctoral students from the University of Havana Amanda García Roche, Lubia Díaz Bernal and Susana Haug Morales are benefiting from a five-month research stay at the USN in Bø, with the main objective of completing their respective doctoral theses and attending other academic postgraduate training activities.
