Guyana, Georgetown, January 31, 2026. Cuban residents, Guyanese graduates from Cuba, and prominent figures from that country reaffirmed their solidarity with Cuba.Former President Donald Ramotar, former Foreign Minister Clement Rohee, the People's Victory Organization, and other dignitaries participated in the event held at the Embassy.
The anniversary of the birth of Cuba's National Hero, José Julián Martí Pérez, on January 28, 1853, was commemorated, along with the 67th anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution and the centennial of the birth of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.The historical contribution of Cuban medical cooperation in Guyana was recognized. The aggression, impunity, and abuse of power by U.S. imperialism against Cuba were condemned. Support was also expressed for the Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace and for International Law, in light of the latest escalation by the U.S. government in blocking fuel supplies to Cuba.
The participants reaffirmed their support for Cuba's defense of sovereignty, social justice, peace, and solidarity.
