CUBAN RESIDENTS IN GREECE CLIMB MOUNT OLYMPUS

In a new expedition, a group of Cubans residing in Greece, supported by friends in solidarity with Cuba, climbed Mount Olympus together with the head of the Office of Consular Affairs of the Cuban Embassy in this country. On this occasion, the purpose of the patriotic initiative was to pay homage to the Apostle and National Hero of the Republic of Cuba, José Martí, before the plaque placed there in his honor and as a perennial reminder of his immense and tender love for Greece and the Olympus.
The tribute to Martí, attached to a rock there a year ago, in a similar ascent, is located at an altitude of about 2,600 meters, in the Plató de Oropedio, on the Meseta de las Musas, surrounded by the Profitis Ilias mountains, of 2,803 meters, Stefani, 2,908 and very close to Mytikas peak, 2,918 meters above sea level, the highest mountain in Greece. The expeditionaries declared that they also dedicated their courageous action to the new Family Code, and in salute to the anniversary of the creation of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution on September 28.
The group faced adverse environmental conditions, however, with great effort and will, they managed to reach the site where the plaque dedicated to the Apostle is located. On this occasion, the Gortchia -Petroustrugka- Oropedio ascent route was reached and the participants reached the Mytikas peak, to once again wave the undefeated flag of the lone star at the top of Olympus; The descent was made along the Zonaria –
