(PL) With the presence of the Minister of Agriculture of Egypt, Abdel Moneim El-Banna, Cuban professionals of the sector received today in this capital his title of graduates of the Egyptian International Center for Agriculture (EICA).
Specialists Yaquelin Castillo and Wilber Pupo received their graduation diplomas in the fields of Technology for Pest Management and Project Analysis, respectively; in a course that for 10 weeks welcomed more than 50 professionals from some 27 countries.
At the ceremony, El-Banna thanked the participants for their presence and urged them to apply the knowledge acquired in order to enhance the agricultural development of each country.
We hope that the knowledge they received may be useful in the development of their professions; and we hope that these weeks will be remembered as happy days together with our brothers from Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America, said the minister.
The minister also wished that these collaborative projects remain and contribute to the strengthening of relations between the various nations.
The event was also attended by the ambassador of Cuba in Egypt, Tania Aguiar; as well as a broad representation of the diplomatic community accredited in Cairo.
The graduates of the EICA come from countries such as Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Argentina, Bolivia, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, India, Jordan, Lebanon, Thailand and Vietnam, among others.
The EICA was established in 1965 with the objective of transferring to the world the expertise and agrarian technology of Egypt; Despite having a considerably small arable area, agriculture in the North African nation contributes an important part of the country's GDP.
