Cairo, January 14, 2026. Members of the Cuban State Mission in Egypt visited the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela this morning to sign the book of condolences opened in tribute to the heroes and martyrs of Venezuela and Cuba who gave their lives in defense of the sovereignty of that sister nation during the criminal attack and kidnapping of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro Moros and his partner, First Combatant Cilia Flores, on January 3.
The Cuban people will pay tribute to their 32 heroes on January 15 and 16. They will receive their first posthumous tribute at a military ceremony at José Martí International Airport in Havana. At the conclusion, they will be transported along Rancho Boyeros Avenue to the headquarters of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces. During that journey, a representation of the people, gathered on both sides of the road, will pay tribute to the fallen.
Eternal honor and glory to our heroes who fell in defense of the independence and sovereignty of Venezuela and all of our America, wrote Alexander Pellicer Moraga, ambassador of the Greater Antilles. (Embacuba Egipto)
