Cuban students in Ankara gather to bid farewell to 2025 and welcome 2026

Cuban students residing in Ankara gathered to bid farewell to the year 2025 and welcome 2026, in a meeting characterized by cultural exchange, the strengthening of identity ties, and the reaffirmation of unity among Cubans living abroad.

The event was organized by the Embassy of Cuba in Türkiye and was attended by Oscar Redondo, Counselor in Charge of Consular Affairs, who shared with the participants and highlighted the importance of preserving traditions, a sense of belonging, and community bonds among Cubans residing in the country.

During his remarks, the Counselor reflected on the significance of the year 2026, declared the “Year of the Centenary of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz”, emphasizing it as a tribute to a central figure in Cuba’s national history and as an opportunity to reaffirm shared values, historical memory, and unity among the Cuban people.

The gathering took place in a warm and fraternal atmosphere, underscoring the importance of maintaining customs, mutual respect, and support among students, thereby strengthening the sense of community.
