Cuban trade unionist takes part in the General Assembly of an important Norwegian Trade Union

Oslo, March 28, 2025. The Secretary General of the National Union of Workers of the Food and Fishing Industry of  Cuba (SNTIAP), Jorge Luis Fajardo Casas, was invited to take the floor at the 27th Annual General Assembly of the Norwegian Union of Food, Beverage and Allied Workers  (NNN).

The Cuban trade union leader was invited to take the floor in one of the sessions. In his remarks, he expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to participate in such an important meeting and conveyed a sincere greeting to all the delegates from NNN gathered at the Oslo Congress Center, on behalf of the more than 106,000 members of SNTIAP. He also denounced the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba for more than six decades and its strengthening in recent years, causing significant damages to the country's economy and the living conditions of the people.

During his stay in Oslo, the SNTIAP leader signed a memorandum of understanding with NNN President Anne Berit Aker Hansen, seeking to reestablish and organize the relations between the two trade unions.

Jorge Luis Fajardo Casas's visit will undoubtedly contribute to reinvigorating the ties of friendship and cooperation that have existed between the SNTIAP and NNN for more than 20 years.

As part of the program prepared for him by his Norwegian counterparts, Fajardo Casas met with officials from the NGO Norwegian People's Aid (APN) and visited places of interest. (Embassy of Cuba in Norway)
