The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Simone Rudder, received her Cuban counterpart, Rogelio Sierra, as part of the official visit he made to Barbados between June 9 and 11, accompanied by the Cuban Ambassador in Barbados, Francisco Fernández, and the director of the Caribbean and Central America in the Cuban chancellery, Jorge Luis Mayo. Before both parties participate in the courtesy visit made to the Prime Minister, a working lunch was offered to the Cuban delegation while later in the evening a complementary meeting was held to have an integral overview of the issues that require immediate attention in the bilateral agenda, for which the different directors of the Barbadian chancellery were in attendance: Sandra Gittens, from the Caribbean Unit; Joyce Bourne, from multilateral Section; Christobelle Sealy, from hemispheric affairs; Trecia King, on African and Eurasian affairs; Kay Sealy, on foreign trade matters; Philip St Hill, recently appointed Chargé d'Affaires in Cuba, and other officials of those directorates.
