The Cuban vice Chancellor met with the Coordinator of the Irish Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba.

Dublin September 29, 2108. Deputy Thomas Pringle, in his capacity as Coordinator of the Irish Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba held a friendly meeting with Cuban vice Minister of foreign affairs Ana Teresita Gonzalez Fraga, who is making a working visit to Ireland.

The process of adopting a new Constitution in Cuba and its impact on the functioning of State bodies such as Parliament, its executive bodies at national and local levels was at the center of the sustained exchange.

Deputy Pringle and vice Chancellor Ana Teresita ratified the will of both sides to work on strengthening the existing friendly relations between the peoples of Ireland and Cuba and expand bilateral cooperation to all possible sectors.

The Cuban vice Minister informed that Cuba will present for the twenty-seventh time before the General Assembly of the United Nations the draft resolution that requires the government of the United States to lift the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on the people of the Island. She thanked the broad international solidarity -including the Irish- that has supported that just demand in UNGA and many other forums and expressed confidence that this new vote, which will take place at the UN headquarters on October 31, will have the overwhelmingly support of the international community as on previous occasions, and will thus constitute a clear message to the Trump administration, committed to additional sanctions and the reinforcement of the blockade, ignoring the feelings of international public opinion and of the American people themselves.
