Cuban Vice President talks with members of the State Mission in Ghana

The Vice President of the Council of State of Cuba, Mercedes López Acea, met with the workers' group of the Cuban Diplomatic Mission and with members of the Cuban Medical Brigade (BMC) who work in the Ghanaian territory.

During the exchange with the Vice President, the head of the Cuban Medical Mission, Dr. Ana Lubín García, explained the working conditions of the volunteers, who work in five of the ten regions of Ghana: Greater Accra, Eastern, Volta, Northern and Upper East.

The Cuban Vice President acknowledged the value of the humanitarian work carried out by Cuban doctors towards the Ghanaian people, and reiterated Cuba's historic commitment to Africa. As part of her dialogue with those present, the leader gave an overview of the main tasks in which Cuba is immersed, and especially the electoral process, which will conclude with the election of the new President of the Council of State on 19th April, 2018.

The meeting was also attended by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ana Teresita González Fraga; the Ambassador of Cuba to Ghana, Mr. Pedro Luis Despaigne González and the Ambassador Sidenio Acosta Aday, official from the Sub-Saharan Africa Division of the Ministry of Foreign Relations.
