Cubanitos living in Kumasi ratify their solidarity with Cuba

The staff of the Embassy of Cuba headed by the Ambassador Pedro Luis Despaigne González attended the activity in solidarity with Cuba, organized by the Ashanti branch of the Association of Ghanaian Trained in Cuba (ESBECAN).

During his speech, the Cuban Ambassador thanked, on behalf of the Embassy´s staff, the possibility of visiting Kumasi, capital city of the Ashanti region, and considered by its history and for its natural and human resources, as the second city in the country. The Cuban diplomat stressed that the meeting with the “Cubanitos” in Kumasi coincided with the year of celebration of the 60th anniversary of the historic meeting between Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, and Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, which laid the foundations for the close relationship between the people of the two countries.

On behalf of members of ESBECAN, the National President, Engineer Musa Swallah and the President of the Association in the region, Dr. Stephen Larbi-Koranteng, highlighted their gratitude to Cuba for what it represented as having trained as professionals in their classrooms. They made reference to anecdotes of youth, and ratified their support for their second homeland in their battle against the blockade.

The representation of the ESBECAN members was accompanied by their closest relatives, which they exchanged with the staff of the Embassy of Cuba.
