Hanoi, January 31. - With a simple act in the park that perpetuates the memory of the National Hero of Cuba in Hanoi, members of the Cuban State Mission and Vietnamese friends, paid tribute to the most universal of Cubans, when the 167th anniversary of his birth was celebrated, the 28th of January.
Elizabeth Ocaña, on behalf of the Cuban students in Vietnam, when speaking to those present, expressed: “We have to honor Marti every day, the whole life, but on January 28 it is of those particularly endearing dates, among all venerated, to make a heartfelt tribute to whom never visited Vietnam, but knew how to describe the nobility of this land of the Anamites with pinpoint accuracy”.
On behalf of the Vietnamese, Nguyen Viet Thao, first vice president of the
Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association, recalled the words of the Martí when he said: "Whoever stands up with Cuba today, stands up for all time," for that same reason he expressed that Vietnam is always next to Cuba because fighting for Cuba also means fighting for Vietnam and strongly condemned the blockade and aggressions of the US government and reactionary forces in the world against Cuba.
