Cubans celebrated in The Bahamas the Anniversary 55 of the UJC and 56 of the OPJM

THE BAHAMAS, April 2, 2017. -The Cuban Embassy in The Bahamas and the Association of Cubans Resident "Ismaelillo" hosted an event on the occasion of the 4th of April to celebrate the 55th Anniversary of the Young Communist Union and the 56th Anniversary of the Organization of Pioneers “José Martí”.

Cuban residents, members of the Cuban mission in The Bahamas, members of the solidarity group, students graduated in Cuba, as well as Bahamians and friends from other nationalities attended this event, held at the residence of the Cuban Ambassador to the Bahamas, Ismara Vargas Walter.

During the event, an entertaining talk about patriotic symbols was given. The little ones had the opportunity to show their knowledge about them and learn more about their meaning and importance for every Cuban.

The children were also involved in activities and games enjoyed by all the attendees. The "sack race", the "game of chairs", "do not stay with the stick", "dancing with the hula hoop" and "hold the rope" are some examples. These games allow the new generations of Cubans to identify more with our traditions and the joy that comes with celebrating this date.

Other attractions of the event were a delicious cake with the image of the Cuban flag and a beautiful piñata decorated with Elpidio Valdés, gifts made by Cuban residents to the children.

The celebration on the occasion of the 4th of April is a great event celebrated every year by all Cubans in The Bahamas, as a big family.
