Saint George, March 29: This Sunday, a rally against the US blockade was held in Saint George, the capital of Grenada, led by a group of Cubans and officials from the Cuban Embassy. Participants denounced the hostile policy that for decades has attempted to break the resistance of the Cuban Revolution.
This statement is part of the wave of denunciations coming from different parts of the world against Washington's criminal policy toward Cuba. Solidarity organizations, governments, and social movements have reiterated that the blockade constitutes a flagrant violation of human rights and an act of aggression against a dignified and sovereign people.
In this regard, as part of his remarks, Ariel Pazos Ortiz, Cuban Consul in Grenada, stated: “The Cuban Revolution is not measured only by its difficulties, but by the dignity with which it faces each challenge. No blockade can erase the strength of a people who fight for their right to exist free and just.”
The US blockade is a reality that has suffocated the Cuban people for more than six decades and, since January 29, has taken on an unprecedented dimension by preventing countries around the world, through an executive order from the White House, from trading fuel with Cuba. This new escalation confirms the criminal nature of a policy that seeks to break Cuba's resistance against imperialism.
