Cubans living in Ghana strengthen ties.

Accra, 20 April 2024. - Solidarity among fellow Cubans took centre stage in the first days of the second half of April as several members of the Association of Cubans living in Ghana, "Cuba Nuestra", mobilised in response to concerns about the health condition of one of our compatriot.

Dr. Israel Soto Candebat, a doctor specialising in Internal Medicine, who has lived in Ghana for more than 20 years, did not hesitate to help his fellow countryman, and, once his state of health allowed it, a representation of Cuban residents, led by the president of the Association, Beatriz Roll Bermudez, paid him a visit.

It is part of the idiosyncrasy of Cubans to selflessly help others, which is why these events make the ties between fellow Cubans continue to grow and the question "Are we or aren't we?" becomes more relevant. Unity is an inextricable part of good processes and fostering it is a task everyone should commit to. Cuba, our island, becomes stronger if we unite in every corner in order to take care of it and of each other.
