The staff of the Cuban Diplomatic Mission in Namibia, along with members of the Health Brigades, UNECA and ANTEX, joined today the movement “Mi firma por la patria”, reaffirming the inalienable right of Cubans to live in peace and to defend the country against any attempt at aggression.
Doctors, engineers, architects, and diplomatic officials working in Windhoek ratified their loyalty to the Revolution and their rejection of the economic blockade imposed on our country by the current United States administration.
Simultaneously, in the other 13 regions of the country, Cuban professionals also demonstrated their commitment to defending the sovereignty of the homeland by signing the document.
“Today we conclude a week of patriotism and commitment, framed within the commemorations of the 65th anniversary of the Victory at Playa Girón. With our signatures, we affirm the Cuban people's commitment to peace and, at the same time, our determination to defend the homeland under any circumstances,” stated Ambassador Sergio Vigoa de la Uz, after everyone sang the National Anthem at the diplomatic mission in Windhoek.
“My signature for the Homeland” reaffirms support for the call made by President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez on April 16, during the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the proclamation of the Socialist character of the Cuban Revolution, in which he called from Havana for a national and international initiative of denunciation and solidarity with the Cuban people.
The Declaration of the Revolutionary Government, issued on April 17 and read at the event, emphasizes that defending ourselves is not only a right; it is, as we enshrine in our Constitution, the greatest honor and supreme duty of every Cuban.
The text calls for condemning the United States' blockade and economic war against Cuba, which it characterizes as a genocidal act; and for repudiating the policies of hatred and the continued threats of military aggression against the Caribbean nation.
