Bangkok, February 16, 2019.- Diplomats and workers of Cuban entities present in Thailand went to the polls today to vote for the new Constitution, in deserved tribute to more than a century and a half of contentions for the sovereignty and independence of the largest of the Antilles.
In line with the updating of the socio-economic model of Cuba, the new Magna Carta, which will replace the current one from 1976, expands individual guarantees, reflects the rights and duties of citizens and incorporates diverse transformations in the structures of the State and the Government. Its modern text, consistent with International Law, stands out for its inclusive nature.
In the year of its 60th anniversary, the Cuban Revolution demonstrates the value and originality of its democratic system and defends in this historic Referendum the improvement of Socialism as a way to achieve the dreams of justice and dignity of generations.
At the diplomatic mission in Bangkok, the ballot box was guarded by our pioneers, a distinctive feature of the Cuban electoral system that symbolizes the purity and transparency of the process, the leading role of new generations in the future of our nation and the guarantee of the continuity of the just work of the Revolution.
